Stamford Police have identified the man killed in a single-car crash in Stamford on Jan 29 as Johny Villard, 45, a city resident.
The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is investigating a fatal crash that took place at approximately 8:52 pm on Jefferson Street at Magee Ave on Monday, January 29, 2024.
A 2004 Porsche Cayenne was traveling eastbound on Jefferson Street approaching the junction with Magee Ave.
The Porsche continued eastbound across the intersection and did not negotiate the left curve in the roadway and struck a City of Stamford traffic light pole.
The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle, Mr. Villard, suffered critical injuries during the collision. He was transported to Stamford Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
This investigation remains open.
