Man Employee Charged with Break In at Blue Cross Animal Hospital

Andrew Tanner, 52, of 597 Pacific Street in Stamford was arrested on Jan 16 at 11:30pm by Greenwich Police and charged with Burglary 3 and Larceny 6 after the owner of Blue Cross Animal Hospital at 530 East Putnam Ave in Cos Cob discovered him inside the Post Rd business in the process of taking items.

According to Greenwich Police, officers responded to Blue Cross Animal Hospital in Cos Cob after being contacted by business owner who believed an unknown subject was inside without permission.

According to Greenwich Police, the owner related to arriving officers that she stopped by to check on her business and found the door unlocked. When she called out, a male voice answered.

Mr. Tanner, was found within the business where he had been an employee but did not have permission to be there after business hours. According to police there were indications of narcotic abuse at the time of the investigation, and it appeared that the subject was consuming narcotics that had been under the control of the business.

Mr. Tanner’s bond was initially set at $25,000, which was reduced to $15,000, which he was still unable to post.

He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Jan. 22, 2016.
