Sharp Eye of Greenwich Police Officer Results in Shoplifting Arrests

On Wednesday a Greenwich Police officer working a side job in the area of Greenwich Avenue spotted two men enter CVS with what appeared to be empty duffel bags. A few minutes later, he spotted the two men leaving the store and the duffel bags appeared to be full.

According to Greenwich Police Captain Zuccerella, the men had stolen numerous packages of deodorant.

Both men got into a car and headed east on Lewis Street.

Police spotted the car fail to grant right of way to oncoming traffic as the driver talked on a cell phone.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted and investigation revealed that the driver, Isaiah Jordan Graham, 18, of New York, NY, was in possession of stolen items.

Police also detected the odor of unburned marijuana. Mr Graham removed a small bag containing marijuana from his pocket. Police say he did not have a driver’s license and was in possession of stolen items.

He was charged with Conspiracy, Larceny 5, Operating without License, Operating with Hand Held Device and Failure to Grant Right of Way at Intersection.

He was able to post his $2500 bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Feb 10, 2021.

The passenger, Ahmed Diamasy Sawadogo, 18, of Fairfield, NY was charged with Conspiracy, Larceny 5, and Possession Less than 1/2 Oz Cannabis.

He was unable to post his bond, and was placed in GPD cell #2. He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Feb 10, 2021.
