Resident Reports being Jumped, Beaten by Trio Who Stole His Car

Greenwich Police on May 12 took a statement from a resident who said that between 10:30 and 11:00pm on May 8 he was jumped by three people in the area of Byram Rd and Sherman Ave in Byram as he parked his car on the street.

“He parked his car and got jumped,” said Lt O’Reilly. “They beat him up and took his car which had his iPhone in it….He had some bruising.”

O’Reilly said the resident’s car was a 2006 Chrysler Sebring. It was later recovered in Bridgeport. It had been in an accident on May 10.

The incident was recorded as a Robbery, which is when force or threat of force is used to get goods or service, while burglary is when someone breaks into a residents and commits a crime there.
