Michael P Ortega, 29, of 372 Stillwater Ave in Stamford was arrested on Sunday at about 4:00am after Greenwich Police witnessed a two-car accident at the intersection of East Putnam Ave and Sound Beach Ave.
The operator of the vehicle striking another vehicle from behind, later identified as Ortega, was observed to have glassy red bloodshot eyes and had a smell associated with the consumption of an alcoholic beverage. Ortega failed to perform the standard field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DUI and following too closely.
Ortega was able to post his $250 bond and given a court date of June 29 at Stamford Superior Court.
