Police Charge Driver Caught Speeding, Crossing Double Yellow on Cinco de Mayo

On Sunday around 12:30am Greenwich Police on patrol in the area of East Putnam Avenue spotted a westbound vehicle going 45 in a 30 mph zone and going over the double yellow lines.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop and determined the driver, identified as Hector Rodriguez, 41, of Port Chester had red glassy eyes and smelled of alcohol.

Rodriguez was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard.

A DMV query confirmed he did not have a valid operator’s license.

He was arrested and charged with DUI, Failure to Maintain Lane, Speeding and Driving without a License.

Rodriguez has a date in Stamford Superior Court on May 20, 2019. He posted a $250 bond and was released.
