Police Catch up with Hit & Run Driver Who Hit Two Parked Cars in Riverside

On Wednesday night around 10:30pm Greenwich Police responded to a report of a hit and run on Wescott Street which is behind the McDonald’s in Riverside.

Police say the driver of a 2000 Mercedes Benz MI 320 hit two parked cars and drove away.

Police determined the driver was Nicolas Corzo-Araoz, 25, of Perna Lane in Riverside. They caught up with him at his home where he was seen operating the Mercedes with heavy front end damage.

Police say Corzo-Araoz had dilated pupils and delayed responses when officers spoke with him. He was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard.

Corzo-Araoz was charged with DUI, Evading Responsibility and Unsafe Movement.

He was able to post his $250 bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Oct 9, 2019.
