Parents Arrested after Dispute Spills into Family Centers Classroom

Greenwich police officers were called to Family Centers Inc. at 40 Arch Street on the report of a family dispute within one of the classrooms that took place in front of the students. The incident took place on the morning of March 6, at approximately 9:30am.

At Family Centers, the police investigation revealed that William Stowell, 34, of 63 Hoyt Street in New Canaan, began to have a verbal argument with Evelyn Stowell, 37, of 36 Arch St in Greenwich, within the parking lot. According to Greenwich Police,  both went inside the facility, where Mr. Stowell claims he was struck in the back while proceeding down the hallway to the room where their child was located. While walking down the hallway, administrators for the facility described the two individuals as arguing with raised voices.

According to Greenwich Police, the teachers who were within the classroom reported that William Michael Stowell and his wife Evelyn Stowell continued to yell at each other within the classroom, distracting and upsetting the four students who were within the room at the time, and slamming doors within the room before finally exiting the facility.

Based upon the above facts and circumstances both Mr. Stowell and Mrs. Stowell were placed under arrest and each charged with Breach of Peace 2 and four counts of Risk of Injury/lmpairing the Morals of Minors.

Mr. Stowell posted his bond of $1,000.00 and was assigned a court date of March 9, 2015 in Stamford Superior Court. Mrs. Stowell was released on a Promise to Appear in Stamford Superior Court on March 9, 2015.
