Multiple Charges for Philadelphia Man Who Attempted Fraudulent Bank Transaction

Greenwich Police were detailed to a central Greenwich bank on Nov 18 in response to a possible fraudulent transaction.

Police say that plainclothes officers and the bike unit were provided a clothing and physical description of the suspect as they responded to the area.

Officers converged on Greenwich Avenue and spotted a person matching the description. Bank staff confirmed the suspect was the same person who had gotten into a vehicle in an attempt to leave the area.

The car was stopped and its occupants were detained.

Plainclothes officers and the the Greenwich Police Bike Unit positively identified the arrestee, Darnell Nasir Hall, 41, of Philadelphia, PA.

Investigation revealed that Mr. Hall had used a victim’s name and identity in an attempt to withdraw money from the victim’s account.

He was charged with Criminal Attempt Larceny 3, Identity Theft 3, Criminal Impersonation and Forgery 2.

Mr. Hall was released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Dec 3, 2021.
