Motorcyclist Sustains Life-Threatening Injuries after Crash on Round Hill Rd

On Wednesday at approximately 12:25 pm Greenwich Police Dispatch received an emergency phone call for a crash involving a motorcycle and motor vehicle at the intersection of Round Hill Rd and Close Rd.

Greenwich Police, Greenwich Fire Dept and GEMS all responded to the scene.

Police say the preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcyclist was traveling south on Round Hill Rd when the operator lost control, crossed the double yellow line and collided head on with the motor vehicle traveling north on Round Hill Rd.

The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries while the motor vehicle operator was transported to an area hospital as a precautionary measure.

The roadway was closed for several hours for an crash investigation, but in their 6:25pm statement to media police said the roadway has since re-opened.

The Greenwich Police Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the collision.
