Medical Examiner Confirms Identity of Driver in Thruway Shopping Center Collision

Greenwich Police released a statement to media Monday afternoon saying that at 4:00pm, they were contacted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner who positively identified the driver from Thursday’s Thruway Shopping Center collision as Devon R. Dalio, 42 years of age, out of New York, NY.

“The Greenwich Police send their deepest sympathies to the family of Devon,” Greenwich Police said in the statement.

Last Thursday afternoon, police say a 2016 Audi driven by Mr. Dalio drove over a parking strip, mounted the curb, crashed through the Verizon store front doors and traveled completely into the store. After entering the store, a fire ignited.

Police say they continue to investigate the crash and updates will be released when information is available.

On Friday Ray Dalio confirmed his son’s death in a Tweet.
