Man Charged for Getting in Uber Driver’s Face and Saying ‘I Hope You Catch Coronavirus’ during April Lockdown

On Friday morning Greenwich Police arrested Brandon Scott Wilson, 20, of Havemeyer Place by warrant.

Police say that on April 5, which was during the Pandemic lockdown, Wilson had a verbal altercation with an Uber driver.

“His threat involved getting in the Uber drivers face, causing spittle to come out, and is alleged to have said, ‘I hope you catch Coronavirus,'” said Lt Zuccerella of Greenwich Police.

Wilson was charged with Breach of Peace 2 and Threatening 1.

He was released on a Promise to Appear in Court on July 31, 2020.
