Man Rescued from Steep Embankment on Byram River off Pemberwick Rd

According to the Twitter feed of Greenwich Fire Fighters local 1042 Twitter feed, Greenwich fire fighters rescued a person who fell 75′ down embankment in the Byram River Friday night after 11:00pm. According to multiple reports, the man fell down the embankment  on Buena Vista Drive and firefighters responded after a neighbor heard someone calling for help.

A rope and pulley system was used to remove the man from the water. This is a technique firefighters practice at their facility on North Street. GEMS transported the man to the hospital. This story will be updated when more information becomes available. Firefighters were called to the scene after a neighbor heard someone calling for help around 11:00 p.m.
