Man Faces Multiple Charges after Arguing with Homeowner He Tried to Sell Magazines

Xavier Willis, 24, of 10520 sw 151 Terrace in Miami Florida was arrested after an incident at about 8:00pm on Hickory Drive in Glenville involving him selling magazine subscriptions.

Police responded to the area of Hickory Dr. and Quintard Terr. on the report of a verbal altercation with the homeowner and a subject who was previously attempting to solicit magazines to him.

Officers observed a black male subject who was later identified as Xavier Willis walking away from the area. Upon confronting him he stated that he was selling magazines and denied ever arguing with anyone. He further related that he knew it was illegal to solicit without a permit and related he had been arrested numerous times for it.

According to police, when questioned again regarding his interaction with the homeowner, Willis changed his story and related that he got into an argument with him then left without further incident.

He was charged with Selling without a Sales Tax Permit, Breach of Peace 2nd Degree, and Violating a Town Ordinance $90 or Less.

Dispatch advised of active arrest warrant of Xavier out of Groton, CT. Willis was placed under arrest. He was unable to post his $2,000 bond and was placed in a holding cell. He was scheduled a Stamford Court date of April 27, 2016.
