Man Charged with Violating Protective Orders in Byram is Well Known to Police

Jermaine R Powell, 46, of 186 Grace Church St in Port Chester, NY was arrested by Greenwich Police on Friday, Feb 15 around 2:00am after they responded to a report of a verbal altercation in Byram.

Upon arrival police say they met with the reporting party victim #2 who said Powell was in a bedroom arguing with victim #1.

Investigation revealed that both victims had protective orders against Mr. Powell.

Powell was charged with two counts of Violating Protective Order, which is a class D felony.

His bond was set at $1,000 and he appeared in Stamford Superior Court the same day.

According to the Judicial Branch website, Mr Powell has charges pending in Stamford for Assault 3, Disorderly Conduct, Risk of Injury to Child (felony), Interfering with Officer/Resisting Arrest stemming back to March 21, 2018. He’s been on the docket for those charges 10 times.

Also he was arrested by Greenwich Police on Sept 3, 2016 and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Assault 3 and Strangulation 2. That case has been on the docket 19 times. His bond on these charges is $5,000.

He was also arrested by Greenwich Police on Nov 1, 2017 and charged with Interfering with Officer/Resisting and Breach of Peace 2. That’s been on the docket 13 times and still awaits disposition.

As of Monday, Powell’s next date in court remains March 7, 2019.
