At approximately 8:30 am on April 11, 2025, Greenwich Police officers responded to a residence on Henry Street Byram on a report of an unknown man sleeping inside a resident’s apartment without permission.
The resident attempted to stop the individual from leaving, but the suspect fled through a window toward Mill Street.
Patrol officers located and detained a suspect nearby matching the given description of the subject provided by the resident.

The individual was identified as Alexander Mendez, 35, whose address is listed on the criminal information summary as Beech Street in Greenwich.
Mr. Mendez admitted to entering the apartment to seek shelter from the rain.
The resident later positively identified Mendez as the person found inside the apartment.
Mendez was placed under arrest without incident. He was charged with the following:
* C.G.S 53a-108 Criminal Trespass 2nd degree
* C.G.S 53a-182 Disorderly Conduct
His bond was set at $2,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on April 25, 2025.
