Greenwich Police arrested a pedestrian on Riversville Road on March 6. According to the criminal information summary, around 9:45pm, officers patrolling Riversville Rd made contact with a person who was walking in and out of the roadway near John Street and refused to identify himself.
Police said the man was wearing all dark clothing, and in the rainy weather it was difficult to see him.
Police said the man took off running in an attempt to escape from from them, but was later identified as Maximilian Pheasant, 35, of Johnstown, PA.
Mr. Pheasant was arrested and charged with 53-182 Negligent Pedestrian* and Interfering with Officer/Resisting.
*53-182. Any pedestrian who uses any street or highway negligently or recklessly or fails to obey the signal of any traffic officer, pedestrian control, sign, signal, marking or device or recklessly disregards his own safety or the safety of any person by the manner of his use of any street or highway shall be deemed to have committed an infraction and be fined not less than thirty-five dollars nor more than fifty dollars.
Mr. Pheasant was able to post the required minimum 7% of his $600 bond and was released. He was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on March 19, 2025.
