Man Arrested after Assault Leaves Victim with 2″ Laceration

Lavar Ferguson, 38, of 16 South New Street in Greenwich was arrested on Nov. 11 at about 1:20pm for an incident on South New Street. Greenwich police responded to Byram on the report that a female was struck in the eye by a male subject and that he was possibly intoxicated and had left the residence with a friend. The subject was located a short time later walking in the area with his friend.

The investigation revealed that an argument began and the accused reportedly struck the victim on her left eye causing a 2-inch laceration. The accused was arrested and transported to Greenwich Police headquarters where he was charged with Assault with Injuries 3rd degree. He was able to post $1,000 bond and has a court date on Nov. 11, 2015.
