Jose Antonio Cruz, 51, of 246 Clinton Place in Newark, NJ was arrested by Greenwich Police on August 9 for an April 29th incident involving a stolen Honda from a business in Greenwich.
Greenwich Police arrested Mr Cruz on a warrant at Stamford Superior Court where he was on an unrelated matter. He was charged with Larceny 1.
According to Greenwich Police, Mr. Cruz was identified through video surveillance having entered a storage garage for Classic Auto at 274 Mason Street during business hours and stolen a Honda CRV that had been left unlocked with the keys inside.
“They identified the suspect through good old fashioned police work,” said Lt. David Nemecek on Monday morning.
The vehicle is yet to be recovered.
Mr. Cruz is being held on a $100,000 bond. He has a court date on Aug 23, 2017 in Stamford Superior Court.
