Hamilton Avenue School Social Worker on Leave Following Arrest by Stamford Police

On Wednesday night, this is message was sent to parents at Hamilton Avenue School from Principal John Grasso:

Hamilton Avenue School and New Lebanon School social worker Alexander Piño has been placed on administrative leave with pay and without prejudice pending an investigation by the district of a matter related to his arrest by the Stamford Police Department on Wednesday at Hamilton Avenue School.

The Stamford Police Department has informed the district that Mr. Piño’s arrest does not relate to any incidents or allegations concerning Mr. Piño’s work in the Greenwich Public Schools. Mr. Piño’s responsibilities will be assumed by our school psychologist.

Greenwich Time is reporting that Piño, 47, of Stamford, was charged Wednesday with second-degree sexual assault and is being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond.

Stamford Police Dept Captain Richard Conklin told GFP that Piño’s arrest warrant was sealed by the court.
