3rd UPDATE: Missing Teen, Victoria Horton, is with Family

UPDATE #3: Greenwich Police announced on Monday, July 13 that Victoria has been located out of state, and is with family.

UPDATE #2: Thursday, July 9 8:30pm: After a brief return, Victoria Horton has gone missing again. Greenwich Police issued a statement on Facebook:

The Greenwich Police Department takes all instances of Missing / Endangered youths seriously and appreciates the communities’ efforts in helping to locate and reunite these Youths with their families or legal guardians. No matter what the circumstances that precipitated a Youth going Missing / Endangered, it is a SERIOUS matter. These Youths are living the life as a Homeless person, and they lack the parental care that these often troubled youths need the most.

A homeless youth who is living on the street or bouncing around crashing at a multiple locations are at a higher risk for:

•Physical abuse and assaults
•Increased likelihood of high-risk behaviors, including engaging in unprotected sex, having multiple sex partners and participating in intravenous drug use.
• Increased likelihood of exchanging sex for food, clothing and shelter (also known as “survival sex”) or dealing drugs to meet basic needs.
• Greater risk of severe anxiety and depression, suicide, poor health and nutrition, and low self-esteem.
• 75 percent of homeless or runaway youth have dropped out or will drop out of school

UPDATE 7:04pm Tuesday July 7: Greenwich Police report that Victoria Horton has been found.

Greenwich Police are looking for help to locate Victoria Horton, a Missing Person since July 2. Victoria has blond hair and blue eyes. She is about 5’0″.

Victoria’s Legal Guardian last saw her on July 2, and after failed attempts to contact her, the legal Guardian reported her missing on July 3. There is a good possibility that she is still in the Greenwich area.
