Greenwich Police Salute Officers of the Month: Lt Lyman and Officer LaBorne

This week Greenwich Police congratulated Lieutenant Jason Lyman and Police Officer Niklas LaBorne on being named Officers of the Month.

On February 28, 2026, Greenwich Police Dept officers responded to a residence in Belle Haven to investigate a reported burglary in progress. Officer LaBorne observed a suspect fleeing the area on foot. Then Lieutenant Lyman identified fresh footprints in the snow leading toward a nearby residence.

Upon arrival, Lieutenant Lyman discovered signs of forced entry to a second-floor window.

After officers established a perimeter, Lieutenant Lyman made the decision to enter the residence and led a team in a search. During the search, Lieutenant Lyman and assisting officers located the suspect hiding in the residence. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The actions of Officer LaBorne and Lieutenant Lyman exemplify diligence and courage in the performance of their duties. Their coordinated efforts and commitment to public safety reflect the highest standards of service to our community.
