Greenwich Police: Pedestrian Struck on Sound Beach Ave Was 62-Year-Old Woman

On Monday Greenwich Police Lt Slusarz, the press information officer said the police continue to investigate the incident on Friday in Old Greenwich involving a motor vehicle hitting a pedestrian.

The said the pedestrian, a 62 year-old Greenwich woman, suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision and was transported and admitted to the hospital.

The incident took place at 9:50 am, after a vehicle that had been traveling south on Sound Beach Ave made a left turn into the driveway for the Arcadia Parking Lot and struck the woman.

Slusarz said that in the days following the collision, video and photos of the crash scene and the victim being treated have circulated.

He said some of the video and photos are graphic in nature and police have intentionally declined to release them to the media because they might traumatize family and friends of the victim.

“We are currently in the evidence collecting phase of the investigation, and have a lot of work to do,” Slusarz said, adding that police will release more information as the investigation continues.

Police encourage anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or has video or photos of the scene, to contact Officer Roger Drenth at (203) 622-8014.
