Greenwich Police on Heightened Alert for Seat Belts Violations

It’s Passenger Safety Month for the Town of Greenwich. This November, Greenwich Police will be participating in the National Click-It or Ticket enforcement program where they will be partnering with law enforcement agencies from across the country in a coordinated effort to enforce seatbelt laws from coast to coast. The national effort begins November 23 and continues until the 30th, but Greenwich Police are on heightened alert right now.

Greenwich Police want residents to know:

* Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death during the first three decades of American’s lives.

* By wearing seat belts and properly buckling children into age and size appropriate car seats and booster seats, people can reduce the risk of serious injury and death in a crash by half.

* Our officers are on heightened alert Right Now looking for those not wearing seat belts.

On behalf of the Greenwich Police Department, have a happy and safe holiday season.
