Greenwich Police K9 Detects Drugs on Passenger during Motor Vehicle Stop

On Tuesday around 9:00pm Greenwich Police stopped a white Jeep Wrangler for a signal violation in the area of Indian Field Road by I95.

After the occupants consented to a search, a narcotics detecting K9 alerted to the passenger of the car, identified as Frank Ventura, 61 of Highpoint Rd in Westport. He was searched and police discovered a crack pipe in his possession.

Later, at police headquarters, a thorough search revealed he was in possession of heroin and crack cocaine.

He was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession with Intent Narcotic Substance, and Possession of Narcotics.

He was released from custody after posting a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Dec 26, 2018.
