On Thursday night Greenwich Police Captain Patrick Smyth released a short statement to the media saying, “The Police Department is currently investigating the possible suicide of a young adult within the Town of Greenwich.”
Capt. Smyth said the investigation was in its early stages of interviews, gathering information and evidence.
He added that due to the sensitive nature of the investigation, no further information regarding the young adult would be released at this time.
Smyth said updates would be released when available.
Editor’s note: Suicide is a public health issue. Greenwich Free Press typically does not feature suicide stories, mention the word “suicide” or method, except in very instances when a family goes public or reaches out to GFP, or when obituary might include that information.
