On Thursday, Feb 27, 2020 around 4:15pm Greenwich police officers on foot in central Greenwich observed a larceny in progress for which they say Hamed Bakayoko, 20, of New York, NY, along with a juvenile, was responsible.
Police say Mr. Bakayoko and the minor stole approximately $2,057.90 worth of merchandise from the store, and upon being confronted by police on the sidewalk both suspects fled on foot in different directions.
Bakayoko was located a short distance away and was placed under arrest.
He was charged with Interfering with an Officer/Resisting, Larceny 3, Risk of Injury to a Child and Organized Retail Theft, and was released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on March 10, 2020.
The minor has been referred to court.
