Greenwich Police Blotter: Stolen Liquor, Stolen Car, Overdose

During the Monday press briefing, Lt John Slusarz said there was a Larceny on Dec 27 around 7:00pm, at a liquor store on Mill Street in Byram.

“Two black males took a bottle of liquor and pushed the attendant,” Slusarz.

Because the employee was shoved by one of the suspects the incident is recorded as a robbery rather than a larceny, which could result in felony charges if arrests are made.

The incident is under investigation.

On the morning of Dec 27 a 2012 Ford Escape was stolen from the southern parking lot of 290 Greenwich Avenue, which is the address associated Greenwich Public Schools.

“The keys were left inside, and the doors unlocked,” Slusarz said. “We recovered the car on I95. It was on the side of the highway, abandoned between exits 4 and 5. They didn’t go very far at all.”

On Saturday night Greenwich Police responded to 500 Steamboat Road, which is the address of the Delamar Hotel.

“There was a subject who was experiencing an overdose. Narcan was administered and it was a life save,” Slusarz said. “We’re trying to treat this whole opioid issue by giving treatment for users and strong enforcement against the sellers.”
