Upon investigation, Police determined that on April 8 the accused, Ms Hayes, issued two checks – one for $15,000 and one for $13,000, that were returned for insufficient funds after entering into a lease agreement and establishing residence within the dwelling.

According to the arrest report, during a lengthy investigation Greenwich Police detectives were able to establish that Ms Hayes had a long history of deception and evictions within the town of Greenwich, costing numerous landlords potential rental income and incurring legal fees.

On July 19 a judge signed an arrest warrant and set bond at $50,000.

On July 24 Ms Hayes responded to police headquarters where the warrant was served.

She was charged with one count of Larceny 1 and two counts of Issuing a Bad Check over $2,000.

Hayes was released from custody after posting the $50,000 bond. She has a date in Stamford Superior Court on August 7, 2023.
