On Monday Greenwich Police arrested Caitlin Moran Hayes, 43, of Greenwich. The arrest report says that back on April 17th, units responded to 18 Dwight Lane on a report of a landlord-tenant dispute.
Upon investigation, Police determined that on April 8 the accused, Ms Hayes, issued two checks – one for $15,000 and one for $13,000, that were returned for insufficient funds after entering into a lease agreement and establishing residence within the dwelling.
According to the arrest report, during a lengthy investigation Greenwich Police detectives were able to establish that Ms Hayes had a long history of deception and evictions within the town of Greenwich, costing numerous landlords potential rental income and incurring legal fees.
On July 19 a judge signed an arrest warrant and set bond at $50,000.
On July 24 Ms Hayes responded to police headquarters where the warrant was served.
She was charged with one count of Larceny 1 and two counts of Issuing a Bad Check over $2,000.
Hayes was released from custody after posting the $50,000 bond. She has a date in Stamford Superior Court on August 7, 2023.
