The Greenwich Police Department will be conducting impaired driving sobriety checkpoints on December 14, from 8:00pm to 4:00am, into December 15.
At various times during the above time frame, Officers will be stationed at high traffic locations within town including East Putnam Ave, West Putnam Ave, Arch Street and Delavan Avenue.
The checkpoints are part of an initiative to increase public awareness and education regarding the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Motorists in Greenwich during these hours are advised to expect brief stops and are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly.
The primary goal of this operation is traffic safety through deterrence and detection of impaired driving.
