During the investigation, officers were able to determine that the arrestee, Dennis John Murphy, 23, created a disturbance, struck the victim in the process and shouted that he was going to kill her.

He was charged with Interfering with an Officer/Resisting, Assault on Public Safety or Emergency Medical Personnel, Disorderly Conduct, Assault 3, Threatening 2, and Unlawful Restraint.

He was unable to post his $50,000 bond and remained in police custody. He was assigned a court date the following day in Stamford Superior Court.
