Greenwich Man Charged with Threatening Following Text Exchange

Greenwich Police charged a local man with Threatening 2 after an incident involve an exchange of text messages.

A person went to police headquarters on June 26 to report that after texting back and forth with Joseph Carey, 32, of Greenwich, he sent a message threatening to hit the victim once he saw her.

Police responded to Mr. Carey’s residence in the western part of town and took him into custody.

Mr. Carey was transported to police headquarters where he was processed. He was able to post the required 10% of his $500 bond and was released.

He was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court the following day, June 27, 2022.
