Greenwich Man Charged with Creating a Public Disturbance in Grass Island Park

On June 4 around 3:30pm Greenwich Police responded to Grass Island Park on a report of an intoxicated man causing a disturbance.

Contact was made with the person, later identified as Blaise Martin Bruno, 38, of Greenwich.

Police say Mr. Bruno was advised not to operate his vehicle based on his apparent level of intoxication, and he was issued a verbal warning for crating a public disturbance.

Around 6:30pm police responded back to Grass Island Park on multiple reports of the same intoxicated man from earlier continuing to cause a disturbance by shouting racial slurs at people in the park.

When police returned to the park they observed Mr. Bruno driving his car at a high rate of speed, headed north on grass Island Road. The vehicle made an abrupt stop at the intersection of Grass Island Rd and Shore Rd and a motor vehicle stop was conducted.

Police say that upon investigation, Mr. Bruno was showing signs of impairment and was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard.

Mr. Bruno was charged with Traveling Unreasonably Fast, DUI and Creating a Public Disturbance. He was held on $250 bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on June 17, 2022.
