Greenwich Man Charged with Assault, Threatening, Trespass for Memorial Day Weekend Incident

Greenwich Police arrested a local man, Jack Nastahowski, 59, on Sunday.

Nastahowski was warranted by warrant for Criminal Trespass 2, Breach of Peace 2, Assault 3 and Threatening 2.

The charges stem from an incident around 9:00pm on May 28 in the area of Ivy Street and View Street in Byram, during which Mr. Nastahowski got into an argument with several people and ended up striking a woman with a closed fist.

Police say that while the argument was taking place, Nastahowski was asked to leave the property multiple times, but refused.

During the argument the accused was heard saying, he was “going to kill” one of the other people involved. Also the report said he screamed profanities during the entire exchange, resulting in multiple other neighbors coming out of their residences to see what was happening.

Nastahowski’s bond was set at $25,000, which he was able to post through a bail bondsman. He was released from custody and has a date in Stamford Superior court on June 19.

A separate arrest report from a different officer says that an hour later on the same evening of May 28 Mr. Nastahowski assaulted a victim causing visible injuries. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Assault 3 and bond was set at $25,000. He was able to post this bond through a bail bondsman and is due in court Monday morning, June 5 for these charges.
