On July 2 around 9:00pm Greenwich Police responded to a report of two people arguing over stolen money on East Putnam Ave in Riverside.
Officers attempted to speak with the suspect who was not compliant when told to turnaround. Police say the suspect, Constantino Alexander Faria, 20, of 26 Reed Lane in Greenwich began throwing punches at the officer’s head, hitting him several times on his head and shoulder. Police say the officer had to put the suspect on the ground to be restrained. While on the ground the suspect continued to try to punch the officer in the head.
Faria was charged with Assault on a Public Safety Officer. His bond was set at $1,500 and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on July 16, 2018.
