Greenwich Man Arrested for Letting Children to Ride in Car Being Towed

On April 25 Myrna Oquendo 58, of  293 Tyler Street in Springfield and Benny Rodriguez, 45, of 62 Pemberwick Rd in Greenwich were arrested by Naugatuck Police and Charged with Risk of Injury to a Child on Saturday at about 12:45pm. The arrests followed police response to a report of children inside a vehicle being towed on a flatbed tow truck.

Oquendo was also charged with leaving a child under age 12 unsupervised.
According to Naugatuck Police who publish their arrests on Facebook, Ms. Oquendo was the responsible party for the children. Mr. Rodriguez was operating the tow truck driver who was towing the vehicle from Stamford to Naugatuck. According to the police report, Oquendo and Rodriguez allowed the children to remain in the vehicle that was on the flatbed because of a the lack of room in the tow truck’s cab area.
Rodriguez was assigned a court date of May 6 in Waterbury Superior Court. He was released on a $5,000.00 non-surety bond. Oquendo was also assigned a court date of May 6 in Waterbury Superior Court. She released on a $5,000.00 surety bond.
