On Friday afternoon, Greenwich Fire Dept E1 E4 T1 and Car 3 responded to a report of a car that had gone down an embankment along Glenville Road and wound up in the water. They learned a person was trapped inside the car.
Greenwich Professional Firefighters posted on their Facebook page that upon arrival, Car 3 confirmed that the driver was trapped in the car.
Arriving units went to work quickly on stabilizing the vehicle so it wouldn’t roll onto its roof.
The Fire Dept extricated the victim using the jaws of life to remove the roof of the car.
The Fire Dept transferred the patient to Greenwich EMS.
