Greenwich Fire Dept Extinguish Fire in North Mianus

Greenwich Firefighters put out a fire Wednesday  at 2 Old Stone Bridge Road around 6:55pm. According to a social media post by Greenwich Fire Dept, the fire was seen on the roof and near the vicinity of the chimney.

Units made entry into house and made it up into the attic, which they opened  up and extinguished all visible fire.

Firefighters had to work in sub freezing temperatures and icy conditions during the effort, working for approximately 40 minutes to bring the fire under control.

Both the roof and attic areas suffered damage, but fortunately there were no injuries.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire.

Units that operated were: Car 4, Squads 1 & 8, Engines 2, 4, 5, Truck 1, Tankers 2 & 7, Rescue 5, Patrol 2 and Support Unit 1.

The Fire Dept thanked Greenwich Police and Greenwich EMS for their assistance.
