GPD: Third Arrest Made for Theft of Political Signs

On Monday Greenwich Police shared arrest reports to local media, including the arrest of a Riverside woman by warrant on July 29 for stealing a “Do You Love Freedom” yard sign in the area of exit 5 of I-95. The incident took place on July 21, 2021 at 10:00am.

Police say Johanna Elena Pagani, 24, voluntarily arrived at Greenwich Police headquarters after being advised of an active arrest warrant issued for Larceny 6.

Pagani was granted a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on August 13, 2021.

She was released from custody with no incident.

Last week Greenwich Police charged two other people with Larceny 6 for stealing “Do You Love Freedom” political signs in separate incidents.

Last October when the town was peppered with campaign signs for US President, 36th district Senate and State Rep races, police released a statement regarding thefts of political campaign signs saying stealing a sign could result in a Larceny 6 charge.

Police have said that anyone who has had a sign stolen from their private property can contact Greenwich Police to report the theft. If someone has their property stolen from public property they can call to report the theft as well.
