Thanksgiving is on Thursday and Greenwich Police note the start of the holiday shopping season.
Here are five tips to keep in mind when shopping this year:
There is safety in numbers. Thieves are less likely to target a group of shoppers.
Park your vehicle in well-lighted areas. Criminals are more likely to work in shadows.
Don’t leave items visible in your vehicle. Lock your car. Take your keys with you.
Be discreet when paying for your purchases int he store. avoid displaying large sums of cash.
If you have to shop with children, make a plan in case you end up getting separate from each other. Pick a central meeting place and teach your children to ask retail personnel for help if they need it.
