UPDATE: Man Charged with Unlawful Restraint, Sexual Assault Allegedly Posed as Lyft Driver

 Update, Tuesday 1:30pm. On Tuesday Jorge H Delgado Hernandez was arraigned in Stamford Superior Court before Judge Gary White. Around 12:30 he came through a rear door to court in handcuffs and shackles.

Hernandez’s attorney said his client had been in the US for 13 years, works a construction job in Stamford, and was accompanied to court by his wife. He said Mr. Hernandez has two children – a two year old boy and one year old boy. His attorney asked that his bond be reduced from $100,000 to $20,000 but the judge declined that request.

The state’s attorney elaborated on the crime Hernandez was charged with. She said he was posing as a Lyft driver in Greenwich and that the victim had called for a Lyft and got into Mr. Hernandez’s car thinking he was the Lyft driver. The state’s attorney also said Mr. Hernandez allegedly put his hands on the victim’s legs and grabbed her breast.

She also said Hernandez has two past Violations of Probation charges, one for Evading Responsibility and one for Possession of Marijuana in Kentuky.

Hernandez’s is due back in Court on October 4.

Original story, Tuesday, 9:00am: On Sept 10 Jorge H Delgado Hernandez, 30, of West Broad Street in Stamford surrendered to Greenwich Police who had an active warrant for his arrest.

Hernandez was wanted for Criminal Attempt/Sexual Assault 3 and Unlawful Restraint 1, for an incident that took place on Dec 3, 2017 in Cos Cob.

Hernandez’s bond was set at $100,000, which he was unable to post. He was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on Sept 24, 2018.
