UPDATE: Car Recovered in Downtown Carjacking Incident

UPDATE: On June 7, Lt Mark Zuccerella, the GPD public information officer, gave an update on the carjacking that took place last Tuesday, June 1.

Zuccerella said the stolen car was a Mercedes Benz. He said it was recovered, unoccupied, later in the day in Bridgeport.

“We are still working the investigation,” Zuccerella said.

Original story: On Tuesday around 3:15am Greenwich Police received a report of a car theft in the area of East Putnam Ave and Milbank Ave. 

Police say the victim was asleep in their vehicle and woke up to the sight of two subjects removing her from the vehicle. 

“The Victim yelled at the suspects to stop.  The two suspects then stole the victim’s motor vehicle,” said Greenwich Police captain Mark Zuccerella. 

Greenwich Police officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. 

The victim sustained minor injuries from being removed from the vehicle but declined medical treatment. 

The Greenwich Police Dept Detective Division was notified and has been actively investigating this incident.
