GPD Charge Man with Larceny for Removing Tires and Rims from Honda on Mason St

Greenwich Police responded to Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, NJ to take custody of a man who was being held as a Fugitive from Justice after was stopped by Lyndhurst Police Dept officers for a motor vehicle violation and determined that Greenwich Police held an active warrant for his arrest.

Police say Robert Mebane, now 29, from Stratford, was wanted for Larceny 3 here in Greenwich. He also had multiple outstanding counts of failure to appear in court.

The warrant stemmed back to an incident on Dec 13, 2019 in which Mebane allegedly removed four tires and rims from a 2020 Honda Passport without permission or authority on Mason Street.

Bond was set at $150,000, which he was unable to post. He was held at GPD headquarters until his arraignment the following day in Stamford.
