GPD Arrest Foursome on Bank Fraud Charges on Busy Saturday on Greenwich Ave

On Saturday around 10:45am Greenwich Police arrested of a group of four suspects after a call about a fraudulent bank transaction in process.

Patrol officers and plain clothes officers detained and positively identified the four men.

Investigation revealed the men conspired to go to the bank and present fraudulent documents – a fraudulent NY driver’s license featuring the suspect’s photo, a fraudulent Spectrum bill, and a fraudulent National Grid bill – detailing the victim’s name in an attempt to fraudulently open a business account in his name.

A search of one of the men, Samuel Johnson, revealed a fraudulent Connecticut ID inside his shoe with a photo of his co-conspirator.

A search of Mr. Johnson’s co-conspirator’s car revealed five more fraudulent IDs and four fraudulent credit/debit cards which based on their discovery were used to commit further ID thefts.

Samuel Johnson, 27, with no home address listed, was charged with:

Shakeem Martin, 26, of Brooklyn, NY was charged with:

Mr. Martin was able to post his $50,000 bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Jan 23, 2023.

Keyshawn T Poole, 26, of Brooklyn, NY was charged with:

Mr. Poole was unable to post his $50,000 bond. He is due in Stamford Superior Court on Jan 23, 2023.

Adam J Boynton, 46, of New Haven, CT was charged with:
Use of Drug Paraphernalia
Possession of Controlled Substance first offense

Police say that a search incident to arrest of Mr. Boynton revealed Fentanyl, syringes, an additional counterfeit ID, and an additional two fraudulent credit cars with victim information on them.

Mr. Boynton was unable to post his $50,000 bond.

Additionally, Mr. Boynton was charged with Violation of Probation stemming from a failure to appear charge. Bond was set at $25,000, which he was unable to post.

Boynton is due in Stamford Superior Court on Jan 30, 2023.

As recently as last Wednesday afternoon, Greenwich uniformed, plainclothes and bicycle officers charged a group of three co-conspirators – a Brooklyn woman, a Brooklyn man, and a Pennylvania man – after another report of a fraudulent transaction in progress.

The Pennsylvania man, Dylan Muldowney, 19, of provided officers with a counterfeit New Jersey driver’s license and impersonated another victim in an attempt to deceive police and elude arrest while also providing a story that was disproven by the fact that police confirmed he attempted the same style fraud no less than an hour earlier at a bank in Stamford.
