GPD Arrest Alleged Thief Who Targeted Rims at Car Dealership

On Monday Greenwich Police officers from the warrants and extraditions unit learned from a confidential source that a man wanted for removing rims from vehicles at a West Putnam Ave car dealership would be at a location in Norwalk.

Tasheem T Williams, 33, of Hamilton Ave in Yonkers, NY was wanted for Criminal Mischief 1, Larceny 2, conspiracy to Commit Larceny 2 and Interfering with an Officer/Resisting Arrest.

Greenwich Police say that back on Sept 20, 2018 around 3:15am, when they responded to a report of two subjects dressed in black and wearing masks attempting to remove car tire rims, the subjects fled.

An investigation developed Williams as a suspect and an arrest warrant was obtained.

After receiving the tip about Williams’ whereabouts and conducting surveillance, Greenwich Police located him exiting an elevator at 20 North Main Street in Norwalk and took him into custody. He was brought to Greenwich and processed.

He was unable to post his $100,000 bond and was held at police headquarters. He has a date in Stamford Superior Court on June 17, 2019.
