Fraudulent Check Leads to Multiple Charges at Chase Bank on Greenwich Ave

On the afternoon of May 1 Greenwich Police were detailed to Chase Bank at 197 Greenwich Ave on a report of a man trying to cash a fraudulent check. Investigation revealed that the suspect, David Cruz, 54, of Tinton Ave in the Bronx, NY had attempted to withdraw money from a Chase Bank account that was not his.

Mr. Cruz was charged with Interfering with an Officer after he attempted to resist efforts to handcuff him at the time of his arrest.

In all, Mr. Cruz was charged with Criminal Attempt Larceny 3, three counts of Payment Card Theft, two counts of Identity Theft 3, two counts of Criminal Impersonation, two counts of Forgery 1, Interfering with an Officer.

Cruz has a date in Stamford Superior Court on May 16, 2018. He was unable to post his bond of $20,000.
