Forged Adderall Prescription in Walgreens Led to Man’s Arrest

On April 20 at about 10:00pm, multiple Greenwich Police units responded to 1333 East Putnam Avenue in Riverside, Walgreens Pharmacy, on the report of a man trying to use a fraudulent prescription.

Upon arrival, it was determined that Jonathan E. Hanchar, 31, of Barrington, Rhode Island, had tried to use sheets from a stolen prescription pad to obtain Adderall. After receiving consent to search his vehicle, additional prescription sheets were located.

Hanchar was charged with Forgery 2nd degree, Criminal Attempt to Obtain Drugs by Fraud, Criminal Attempt at Illegal Possession of Narcotics.

Unable to post $1,000 bond, Hanchar was held at Greenwich Police headquarters. He was assigned a court date of April 27 in Stamford Superior Court.
