Failing to Stop for Stop Sign Results in Drugs Charges

On Dec 23 around 9:00pm Greenwich Police on patrol in Byram observed a black sedan fail to stop for a stop sign in the area of Hamilton Ave and St. Roch Ave.

Police say that upon approaching the vehicle, they smelled marijuana and that the driver, Shaun James Parry, 24, of West Putnam Ave in Greenwich admitted to having smoked marijuana in the car.

Police asked the driver if he had any marijuana on his person or in the car and he admitted he had marijuana within his coat pocket.

Police retrieved a small plastic bag containing marijuana and a small plastic container containing cocaine in his coat pocket.

Parry was arrested and charged with Failure to Obey Stop Sign, Possession Controlled Substance Greater than 1/2 Oz Cannabis, and Illegal Possession.

He was released on a Promise to Appear in Stamford superior Court on Jan 8, 2018.
