On Tuesday night near 11:00pm, Greenwich Police on routine patrol spotted a vehicle traveling south on Riversville Rd near Sherwood Ave leave its lane of travel and almost leave the roadway before abruptly swerving back into the correct lane.
A motor vehicle stop was initiated and the driver, Rene Baspar, 49, of Stamford, had glossy eyes and was slurring his speech. Police say Gaspar had the odor of alcoholic beverages and failed to pass standard field sobriety tests.
He was charged with DUI and Failure to Drive Upon Right. He was able to post his $250 bond, and was assigned an appearance in Stamford Superior Court on Jan 7, 2020.
