DUI for Driver Who Nearly Collided with Unmarked Greenwich Police Car

Rebelino E Espinoza-Nepumaceno, 44, of 9 Dorothy Street in Hartford was arrested on Aug 28 after nearly colliding with an unmarked Greenwich Police Car.

Around 1:00am, a Greenwich Police Officer was driving west on Old Field Point Rd between Prospect and Oakridge when a silver Nissan traveling east and straddling the double yellow line nearly hit the patrol car. The officer swerved to avoid collision and was about to make a motor vehicle stop when the Nissan ran a red light at the intersection of Railroad Ave and Arch Street.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted, and according to police, Mr. Espinoza-Nepumaceno had glassy eyes and was unsteady on his feet.

Mr. Espinoza-Nepumaceno was arrested and charged with DUI, Failure to Drive in Proper Lane, and Failure to Obey Control Signal. His bond was set at $250 and he has a court date on Sept. 12, 2016 in Stamford Superior Court.
